SLEEP APNEA
3% of the general population and 10% of men over 40 years old suffer from sleep apnea. Detection is particularly difficult in isolated patients: single, widowers, people sleeping alone who are thus not alerted to the danger they are in.
INSOMNIA
Insomnia is a very common problem, as 30% of the Belgium population suffers from chronic insomnia. Insomnia is said to be chronic when it lasts over three weeks. .
HYPERSOMNA
We say that hypersomnia and drowsiness are consequences of an illness, while it is insomnia that will trigger the diseases.
PARASOMNIA
The most common signs of parasomnia are: sleep-walking, teeth clenching (bruxism), somniloquy (talking while sleeping), abnormal feeding habits at night (people get up in the middle of the night to empty their fridge), people fighting during the night thinking they are being attached and possibly have a violent behaviour at night.
JET LAG
Jet lag is the discomfort we feel following the difference between the wakefulness and the sleep phases and may have negative effects on quality of life, vigilance and recovery.
SHIFT WORK
Most people in this type of work experience sleep or recovery difficulties that affect their health and quality of life.
